Miss Idaho 2012 - Whitney Wood

I had the wonderful opportunity last month of photographing Whitney Wood who is Miss Idaho.

She needed some photos for the program to the pageant coming up and I was honored when they asked me.

She was so much fun to work with and very easy to photograph.

As you can see she is beautiful...not only on the outside but on the inside.

She was sweet and welcoming to all the little girls who were in awe of her as we walked around the park taking pictures. 

Her pageant platform is "Handbags for Hope, Giving Women Confidence They Can Carry." She has done so much with this. Whit­ney collects gently used purses/handbags and fills them with items and good­ies every woman wants in her bag, and takes them to the shel­ters and women’s orga­ni­za­tions.

In January Whitney will represent Idaho at the Miss America 2013 pageant in Las Vegas. 

I wish her the best of luck and can't wait to watch the pageant!

Cutest Kid Contest -2012

It's time for Mystic Memories' Annual Cutest Kid Contest!

Beginning July 9th you will be able to submit a photo of your cute kid(s). I will start to post images as soon as I receive them in an album on facebook and voting will begin. The sooner you get your image in the sooner it will be posted and your voting can begin. I will be taking entries until July 16 ^th. Voting will go on through out the month and close at midnight on July 31^st . Winner will be announced August 1^st.

Sounds fun, right!?!

OK, now lets talk about the prize...

Winner with the most votes at the end of the month will receive a free session.

Here are all the Rules:

* Only one entry per kid. If you have 3 kids you are wanting to enter, please send 3 individual photos, one for each kid.

* You must be the parent or legal guardian of the child you enter into the contest.

* Child must be between 1-10 years of age.

* You must have permission to use the photo you enter. Please do not send me photos taken by other photographers (I don't think they would appreciate you using their photo in another photographers contest. I respect other photographers.) If I have taken the photo I kindly give myself permission to use it.

* Photo must have been taken in the last 6 months.

* Photos do not have to look professional. Any snapshot that shows the cuteness of your kid will work perfectly!

* Any photo sent after midnight on July 16 ^th will not be entered.

* If any of these rules aren't followed I have the right to deny entry.

* This contest is opened to everyone, however if you don't live in the Southeastern Idaho area and you aren't willing to drive to this area I will have to charge for mileage to accommodate your prize session.

How voting works:

* For every "like" that your photo receives it gets a vote. 20 "likes" = 20 votes.

* Your job will be to send the link to your family and friends so they can vote. They will need to “like” Mystic Memories – Photography & Designing's facebook page and click “like” under your photo.

* Picture with the most votes at the end of the contest wins. (That winner has 48 hours to contact me or they default to the runner-up).

How to enter:

* First off you need to be a fan of Mystic Memories - Photography & Designing on Facebook. So if you haven't "liked" the page yet, please go to do this so you can participate.

* E-mail your photo to mysticphotography@live.com with the Subject line Cutest Kid Contest.
         Please include in your e-mail:
                       * Child's Name
                       * Child's Age
                       * Your Name and Contact Info
The only thing that will be posted on facebook is child’s first name and age.

OK now that you know all the Details and how to enter go ahead and find that perfect "Cutest Kid" picture and send it in.

4th of July

I took my kiddos out in their 4th of July outfits for a quick mini session earlier this week.

Once and a while they actually let me take their picture without a fight.

If you ask me there is no better present for a grandparent than a photo of their grandkids!

Jennifer's ABC Maternity Session

OK first off I have to say I can't take credit for this totally cute idea for a maternity session.

Last year I saw this idea done by Julie Paisley (she is an amazing photographer in Florida), I shared the idea with my friend Jennifer.

A year later...Jennifer got pregnant and asked me to do some Maternity pictures of her and we both thought of this cute idea we saw, so we did some brainstorming and came up with our own ideas for an ABC Maternity Session. 

I do have to say that Jennifer and her husband are so much fun to work with and they are so cute together. They look at each other like they are newlyweds...I have to admit I am very jealous! lol. 

I know Jennifer has been dying to see these so I will just cut right to the chase and share her ABC Maternity Session.....
